Fans of the Sims franchise can now play The Sims Freeplay for iOS and Android on their mobile devices. Released by EA Mobile on December 15, 2011 for iOS devices and on February 15, 2012 for Android devices, The Sims Freeplay offers mobile gamers a rich Sims experience with a unique twist. The Sims Freeplay offers its own unique game mechanic by making the game run in real time. This means that tasks require real time to complete. Eating and washing the dishes, for example, will require thirty to forty minutes to complete. And your sleeping Sim will sleep for 6-8 real world hours. The Sims Freeplay also removed any autonomy for your Sims. You, the player, must give directions for your Sims for every action they will do. Your Sims will not do anything out of their own free will. Checking up on your Sims progress and whether your Sim is hungry or tired is something player have to regularly do. Just like other Sims titles, you get to create Sims, put them in pretty houses, decorate their homes, give them hobbies and careers to pursue, and socialize them to your heart's content.

Currencies In The Sims Freeplay

There are four in game currencies that can be earned in various ways and spent to unlock and buy in game items such as furniture, appliances, and other improvement to keep your Sim's virtual life happy. Simoleons act as the in game dollars which your Sim can earn by going to work or selling fruits and vegetables grown in your Sim's own backyard garden. Lifestyle points can be earned by leveling up or completing missions. Social points are rewarded whenever you complete social tasks such as planting social flowers or eating social fruits and the like. VIP points are rewarded whenever you make purchases through the game's online store. VIP points can be spent to buy special VIP items in the game.
Hobbies and Careers for Your Sims To Pursue

No Sims game can be complete without hobbies and careers and there is no shortage of hobbies and careers for your Sims to choose from in The Sims Freeplay. Younger Sims have to enroll in school in Simtown Elementary and Simtown Highschool while adult Sims can pursue careers in music, law, politics, athletics, science, arts, education, real estate, cinema, and even firefighting. Your Sim will have to start out earning lower wages as he gets employed in entry level jobs in their career. But making sure that your Sim performs well at work will get your Sim promoted and earning bigger Simoleons in no time.

There are also plenty of hobbies to choose from in the Sims Freeplay. Your sim can go fishing, ghost hunting, fashion design, diving, woodworking, figure skating, karate, ballet, teen idol, horse tricks, vaulting, show jumping, cooking, playhouse, birdfeeding, quilting, collecting seashells, snorkeling, surfing, playing on arcade machines, and plenty of others. Only one hobby can be developed at a time though. Completing hobby collections and competing in the competition center will allow your Sim to get special items and rewards.
